There is space on the new ingredient pack to note the date you opened the pack, as well as the expiration date. Once the pack is opened, its best-before date is limited. For coffee, 42 days (6 weeks) and for milk, 7 days (1 week)

Wash your hands before shaking the pack. For hygiene reasons, you should not touch the dosing spout. If you do so accidentally, then it better if your hands are clean. Shake the pack at least ten times so that you get the best taste and quality.

On the pack you will find a perforation strip. You can remove this, but not throw it away immediately. There are actually instructions on it. Follow the instructions on the strip or proceed to step 7.

You can remove the dispensing spout from the pack carefully. When doing so, for hygiene reasons, do not grasp the tip.

Insert the dosing spout
Slide the white plastic ring on the bottom of the dispensing spout completely over the blue circle on the bottom of the container.

To prevent leaks, check that the white ring is properly inserted. All layers of the cardboard should fall exactly into the slot of the ring. The upper part of the white ring should be on the pack and the lower part underneath. Now you should not be able to see the blue ring.

Take the transparent part of the dispensing spout (not the tip) and twist it clockwise. For the milk carton, you can twist until you can go no further. Twist the dosing spout of the coffee pack about three-quarters of the way. You can check if the spout is twisted far enough by holding the pack upside down. Once the transparent dispensing spout fills up, it is ready for use.

When inserting the pack in the coffee machine, make sure that the dispensing spout is situated straight under the pack (a 90° angle). The pack will then easily sink into the holder.

Close the refrigerator door. When you hear a click, the refrigerator door is properly closed.

The message that you need to replace an ingredient pack will disappears. Now you can make coffee. If your Cafitesse Excellence Compact does not brew a hot beverage, check that the dispensing spout is tightened properly. Another option is to shake the pack again whilst holding your finger on the end of the dispensing spout. This is to prevent splashing

Bewaar de ingrediënten op de juiste manier

• Koffie (behalve Smooth Roast) bewaar je in de vriezer. Leg de pakken koffie tenminste 3 dagen voor gebruik in een koelkast. 
• Zorg dat je twee pakken koffie in de koelkast hebt liggen, zodat je altijd een ontdooid pak hebt zodra je de koffie moet vervangen.
• Smooth Roast bewaart je in de koelkast, niet in de vriezer.
• Melk bewaar je buiten de koeling (tot max 24°C). Leg deze dus niet in de vriezer of in de koelkast.
• Melk is na plaatsing in het apparaat nog zeven dagen houdbaar, vervang het pak na het verstrijken van deze termijn.
• Probeer ingrediënten nooit te ontdooien door ze in de magnetron of heet water te leggen. Hierdoor verandert de substantie waardoor de Cafitesse Excellence Compact de ingrediënten niet goed kan verwerken en verliest het ingrediënt ook smaak en kwaliteit.
